BIOGRAPHYRachel is a southern firecracker raised in the deep south of Georgia. Her spunk combined with her love for all things Southern (beignets, grits, and gumbo, to name a few) allow her to harness a very unique and creative channel in her artwork.
MEET RACHEL I have a deep love for oil paints. In fact, I swoon over them. I tend to focus on playful abstracts that are rich in lush color palettes often inspired by architecture, fashion and travel. I also have a great passion for painting portraits of my favorite classic icons from Grace Kelly to Jackie O'. I like to think of myself as a modern-day Nancy Drew, always down for a spooky mystery, wild adventure and of course ghost hunting. Like the hissing cicadas in the kudzu canopies of Georgia, I am loud and boisterous, always tappin' my toes to the sounds of Elvis, Ray Charles and James Brown. I am a sucker for anything leopard and floral, and I happily admit that I have a fetish for collecting vintage brooches. As long as my treasures are classy, timeless, chic and modest, I'm good to go! I live for the classics, study the footwork of Fred Astaire , swear by the Charleston, idolize Grace Kelly, and I get a rush from Hitchcock's suspense films. And I can't forget to mention The Twilight Zone.... nothing better. My daydreams often take me to my future home, and traveling here in America and abroad. The Caribbean, Palm Beach, Charleston, Savannah and the French Riviera call to me constantly. Audrey Hepburn said it best, "Paris is always a good idea." I feel really optimistic and passionate about life, spontaneity, and having a feel-good time. BLOG: rachelannerobbins.blogspot.com ART CONFIDANT AT CAITLIN WILSON DESIGNS: caitlinwilson.com/blog |
